RFK Jr. And Allies Challenge Two-Party System In North Carolina Elections

The Carolina Journal reports: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is still campaigning for president in the 2024 election, but he’s now running under the We The People political party in North Carolina, a move that could help get his name on the ballot this November. Formerly a Democrat turned unaffiliated, Kennedy is required to obtain the standard 83,000 signatures as an independent candidate in the state. But by affiliating with a political party, that requirement can be avoided. The newly-formed We The People party, created by RFK allies, could get him ballot access with only 13,865 signatures, WRAL first reported.  The We The People party has submitted a petition request form with the State Board of Elections to become a recognized political party. The petition must be signed by at least 200 registered voters from at least three separate congressional districts in the state. If the party meets the requirements by the end of May, Kennedy can secure his name on the ballot. “Mr. Kennedy will be on the ballot in North Carolina,” Stefanie Spear, press secretary for his campaign, affirmed to the Carolina Journal. “We are working to collect the 13,757 signatures needed to form the “We The People” party. The deadline to turn in these signatures is May 31.” Spear said the campaign is prepared with field teams, volunteers, legal teams, paid circulators, supporters, and strategists who are “ready to get the job done.” Read the full article here. RFK Jr. Steps Out With Demand for Pardon for Julian Assange

New York Sun reports: With what could be the final legal effort for the WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, to avoid extradition to America under way at London, attorney Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is demanding that Mr. Assange be pardoned and his presidential campaign is calling into question President Trump’s “sincerity” in questioning the “security state.” American officials have long maintained that Mr. Assange and WikiLeaks endangered Americans by publishing this classified information. Yet one prominent WikiLeaks user, intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning, was released from prison by President Obama in the final days of his term, though she did not receive a presidential pardon. While Mr. Trump faced criticism for choosing not to pardon Mr. Assange, and President Biden has been silent on the topic as his Department of Justice pushes for extradition, Mr. Kennedy has demanded that Mr. Biden pardon Mr. Assange and has promised to do so in the unlikely event of his election. “Attacking the messenger is never good policy,” Mr. Kennedy said in a statement. “The government’s war against whistleblowers has turned heroes into criminals. Only if we stand together can we protect free speech.” Read the full article here. If you resonate with this message please subscribe to our newsletter to learn more.

RFK Jr. Winning Young And Ethnic Minority Support

UnHerd reports: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has been performing unusually well for an independent presidential candidate, winning over a cross-section of voters that defies partisan demographic patterns.  The podcast Breaking Points ran a small focus group earlier this week on RFK supporters in the Detroit suburbs, and found that they were drawn by his charisma, independence and name, with some expecting him to carry on his family’s legacy and others believing he’d take the Kennedy name in a new direction. Participants in the small focus group were sceptical of the political establishment’s handling of Covid-19, though they all had different concerns, such as vaccine safety, corporate vaccine requirements and Covid treatment policies.  Read the full article here. How Dems Are Already Quashing a Nightmare RFK Jr. Scenario

The Daily Beast reports: On the surface, it might look like President Joe Biden and the national Democratic Party are entirely focused on attacking Donald Trump as the 2024 election ramps up. But increasingly, Democratic organizations and operatives are sharpening their knives for a rival they've long ignored—at least publicly—who could pose a serious threat to Biden’s re-election. Democrat-turned-independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Democrats fear, could potentially throw the election to Trump by cobbling together an unconventional spoiler coalition in the November election. American Bridge 21st Century, a Democratic-aligned super PAC and an opposition research hub for the party, hasn’t ruled out going on the TV airwaves with negative ads against Kennedy. A Democratic operative with the organization described Kennedy as “a high-value, top target for us over at American Bridge.” Read the full article here. Federal Judge Hands RFK Jr. a Win in Lawsuit Accusing Biden Admin of Censorship

The Epoch Times reports: Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has notched a victory in his legal battle against alleged government censorship of statements he made on social media that were critical of the COVID-19 vaccines. A federal court has granted a preliminary injunction against the White House and other federal defendants in a lawsuit brought by Mr. Kennedy that accuses the Biden administration of orchestrating a campaign to pressure social media platforms to censor vaccine criticism. Judge Terry A. Doughty of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana issued the ruling on Feb. 14, stating that Mr. Kennedy Jr. has demonstrated a strong likelihood of success in proving government infringement of his free speech rights. The injunction prevents the defendants—which include the White House, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the FBI—from taking any actions to coerce social media companies to remove or suppress content containing protected free speech. Kennedy Recounts Recent Visit To Lahaina In Aftermath Of Wildfire

Maui Now reports: Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. today released a video documenting his visit to Lahaina, where he went to see firsthand the devastation from the wildfire that destroyed much of the historic town six months ago. The wildfire claimed the lives of more than 100 people, becoming the deadliest US fire in the past century. “I visited Lahaina last month and saw the tragic reality up close: the Maui wildfire’s cascading environmental impacts and toxic aftermath will likely last for years,” Kennedy said in a news release.  He reflected upon hazardous debris, chemicals, and undrinkable water that he witnessed during his visit. He fears that the debris is “wreaking havoc on Lahaina’s residents, farmland, and groundwater, and risks poisoning the local reef.” Read the full article here. Breaking Free From the Two-Party System

Featured in The Baltimore Sun: The Founding Fathers warned us about political parties. In George Washington’s farewell address, America’s first and only independent president cautioned that the rise of political parties would eventually “subvert the power of the people.” And our second president, John Adams, said, “there is nothing which I dread so much as the division of the republic into two great parties.” Despite the prescient warnings of the Founding Fathers, two major parties have come to completely dominate the American political system. Under their sway, every issue becomes a partisan issue, and the acid of political division corrodes the fabric of our society. Neither Democrats nor Republicans represent the democratic will of the people. Each in turn has overseen the erosion of the middle class, chaos at our borders, incessant wars, an explosion of chronic illness, decaying infrastructure, environmental pollution and the capture of government by Wall Street, Big Tech, Big Pharma, Big Ag, military contractors and other interest groups. DNC Heightens Attacks on RFK Jr.

CNN reports: The Democratic Party has ramped up its attacks on independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. in recent days, marking the first significant attempt by either party to shape voter sentiment around his candidacy ahead of a potential rematch of the 2020 election. The Democratic National Committee has taken multiple steps in recent days to portray Kennedy as a spoiler who would help Republican frontrunner Donald Trump defeat President Joe Biden, arguing Kennedy is funded primarily by wealthy donors aligned with the former president. Last week, the DNC filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging that Kennedy’s campaign had illegally coordinated with American Values 2024, a PAC backing his White House bid. Kennedy’s campaign has denied coordinating with the group. Kennedy’s team pushed back on the Democratic attacks, saying that donors “from across the political spectrum are supporting the Kennedy campaign as they are tired of the corruption in the two-party system.” “Instead, donors want an independent candidate who will heal the divide, restore the middle class, end the forever wars, unravel corporate capture, and the end chronic disease epidemic,” Kennedy campaign spokeswoman Stefanie Spear said in a statement to CNN.
