Deadline to Change Voter Registration Address
-If you have moved within your county, you may report a change of address on Election Day at the polling place for the address where you live *You will be asked to provide proof of identity and residence -If you moved to a different county, you may register to vote on Election Day *You will be asked to provide proof of identity and residence ;
Due Date for Mail-in / Returning Absentee Ballot
-Mail your ballot so that is received before 8 PM CT on Election Day OR -Hand deliver your ballot to your county auditor during business hours or any time up until 8 PM CT on Election Day OR -You may designate someone to return your ballot under one of following circumstances:
1.The designee is an immediate family member
2.The designee is a member of your household
3.You are disabled and you have designed someone to return your ballot
*Directions and rules for designating someone to return your ballot are included in the official instructions included with your mailed ballot
Early Voting Window / Locations
Can be done 2 ways: 1. In-person Absentee - go to county auditor's office, complete absentee ballot request form, show ID and immediately be given absentee ballot packet tailored to your precinct details, complete and return to election official 2. Satellite voting - available in some counties - like in-person absentee voting but takes place at location other than county auditor's office (designated location like library or community center, chosen via citizens petition) -counties that receive valid citizens petitions for satellite locations may open locations beginning October 16th and must end by 5pm CT on November 4th *Satellite locations offer in-person same day registration
ID Requirements
-Iowa voters are required to show an Iowa driver’s license or non-operator ID, U.S. passport, U.S. military ID or veteran’s ID, tribal ID/document or Iowa voter ID card at the polls before they vote -voters without one of the listed forms of ID may have the voter’s identity attested to by another registered voter in the precinct or may prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents -voters without the necessary ID or an attester will be offered a provisional ballot and can provide ID up until the time of the county canvass of votes (Monday after election day for Primary and General Elections) -voters who do not appear in the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Driver’s License or Non-Operator ID files are automatically mailed an Iowa Voter Identification Card at the time of registration -any voter may request an Iowa Voter Identification Card from their County Auditor
* An Iowa Voter Identification Card can be used to vote absentee-by-mail, absentee in-person, or at the polls on Election Day -in order to receive an absentee ballot, a registered voter MUST provide the necessary information, which includes:

*Four digit Voter PIN located on the voter's Voter ID Card -valid forms of ID to show when voting absentee in-person or at the polls on Election Day: Iowa Voter Identification Card

College Students Registration Info
As a college student, you may choose to register to vote at your home address or at your college address but not both
-To pre-register to vote, complete a voter registration form: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/pdf/voteapp.pdf and return it to your county auditor’s office
-the form must be signed -you may ask someone to sign your name for you as long as the person is with you when signing the form and does so at your request
-your county auditor will send you a voter registration card within two weeks

-if you're in jail, you can vote by absentee ballot *if convicted of a misdemeanor, must apply with Governor's office to have rights restored

Voting While in the Hospital Recourses
-If you were admitted to the health care facility after 5:00 p.m. fifteen days before the election or on election day, you may contact the county auditor directly to request an absentee ballot
Requesting Ballots in Another Language, Registering to Vote in Another Language
-counties will now be permitted to provide voting materials — including voter registration forms, absentee ballot applications and ballots — in languages other than English
