Voter Registration Deadline
California voters can check their registration status here - Voter registration applications must be postmarked by October 21, 2024 in order to vote in the general election - Online voter registration must be submitted electronically no later than October 21, 2024 in order to vote in the general election - In elections conducted by your county elections official, you can “conditionally” register and vote at your county elections office after the 15-day voter registration deadline. For more information please go to Same Day Voter Registration. - can cast provisional or absentee ballot if you miss the deadline

- Your county elections office will begin mailing ballots by October 7, 2024.
- Ballot drop-off locations open on October 8, 2024.
Deadline to Request Absentee Ballot
Reccomended date to mail in your vote is October 29, 2024. Ballots can be requested here

- Must be postmarked on or before election day. Must be received by county by November 12th.
Deadline to Change Voter Registration Address
October 21st. All you need to do is submit a new application with updated information
Due Date for Mail-in / Returning Absentee Ballot
Vote-by-mail ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by your county elections office no later than 7 days after Election Day.
ID Requirements
In-Person Reqs: Dont require ID to vote, however if they are registering to vote for first time and on their voter registration application did not include drivers license, they MAY be asked to show a Valid ID.
Absentee Reqs: Not required.

Technically no, however they may need to provide supplemental information. For example, the county you reside.
Voting While in Jail or Prison? If so, how can Voters Register and Cast Their Ballots?
-Convicted felons cannot vote
- Believe ballots get mailed to local county jails or prisons. This is done on a county level and is not regulated by the state.
Voting Recourses for Those Needing Assistance
- There are dropboxes placed on curbs near voting locations for voting with disabilities or for those needing assistance. There are also various resources for those who need extra assistance at every polling location
Voting While in the Hospital Recourses

Not a formal proccess in place, however it is reccommended to have someone else who is not in the hospital fill the ballot out on their behalf. There is an option for this on all ballots that get mailed to voters address.
