State Director
Location:
We are currently hiring directors for all 50 states.
Job Type:
Full-time, 40 - 50 Hours Per Week
Compensation:
$7,500 per month
Job Description:
The Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Campaign is dedicated to healing the divide and bringing forth a new era of politics in the United States. We are committed to advancing a platform that prioritizes healing the divide, environmental sustainability, promoting fiscal sanity, and creating equitable opportunities for all Americans.
We are seeking dynamic and experienced State Directors to join our campaign team. This position requires strong leadership skills, campaign experience, and a passion for driving grassroots engagement.
Responsibilities:
Ballot Access Petitioning:
- A proactive approach to learning the ballot access requirements specific to your state, including key deadlines, geographic considerations, and infrastructure needed to meet your weekly petition targets
- Ensure adherence to campaign standards and state regulations, leading by example.
- Coordinate volunteers to secure a minimum of 500 petition signatures per week within your state
- Identify and secure presence at key events in your state such as conventions, trade shows, festivals, etc., securing tables or booths for signature collection
- Organize volunteer shifts at event venues, and identify high-traffic areas for petitioning such as parks, post offices, sidewalks and other public spaces
Leadership:
- Provide clear direction to campaign teams, setting goals and driving outcomes.
- Develop retention strategies and inspire volunteer engagement.
- Articulate and promote Robert Kennedy Jr.'s vision for the nation and our collective future
- Maintain regular in-person and online events for your state volunteers and county/regional organizers
Volunteer Recruitment and Management:
- Recruit, train, and oversee an active volunteer base in your state to maximize campaign impact.
- Coordinate and delegate tasks among state volunteers and county/regional coordinators to optimize efficiency.
- Foster a culture of camaraderie, creativity, dedication, and proactive problem-solving among state staff, county leaders, and volunteers
Exceptional Organization:
- Maintain meticulous organization across campaign activities, including events, volunteer management, and outreach.
- Implement efficient data management systems and reporting procedures.
- Employ innovative strategies to overcome logistical hurdles and consistently surpass weekly objectives
Technology:
- Proficient in managing basic technology such as email communication tools, Google Suite, online supporter databases, and canvassing apps (required)
- Managing mass email and texting campaigns, ideally with NationBuilder CRM. (preferred)
- Ensure team members are proficient in utilizing these tools.
- Ability to utilize digital platforms, and social media (preferred)
Travel:
- Willingness to travel within and beyond the state to support petitioning efforts.
- Coordinate travel logistics to maximize statewide campaign coverage.
Qualifications:
- State residency.
- Proven expertise in field petitioning and leadership capacities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Demonstrated skill in volunteer management and motivation.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building capabilities.
- Flexibility to undertake extensive travel.
- Proficiency in Google Suite tools.
- Experience with mass email and texting campaigns and familiarity with CRMs preferred.
